Boku is a truly global company that takes pride in its diversity and thriving equal opportunity workplace.</p></div><p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p> <p>At Boku we are looking to develop a new product that enables partner marketing opportunities with a 3rd party mobile app. A 3rd party should be able to leverage our SDK to instantiate a web view inside their app. The web view will house a webpage that will display marketing offers managed by Boku and our partners. We are looking to onboard an engineering manager for this team who has experience in managing a team of engineers along with development experience in backend and frontend technologies. This position is going to be based in Mumbai. We are working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work from home or office as and when needed. You are confident, driven, self-motivated and quickly take ownership of your work.</li> <li>Product minded – You enjoy working with stakeholders on requirement discovery and building out new features</li> <li>Multiplier – You care about your engineers and are passionate about growing your team and building new leaders for Boku</li> <li>People Management – You care about your engineers and their career progression.  You want to ensure they have the right tools to do their job</li> <li>Desire for impact - You are willing to take on more responsibilities as opportunities arise</li> </ul> <p><strong>RESPONSBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead a team of 3-5 engineers that include hiring, performance management, career development, etc</li> <li>Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and assistance to the team to effectively execute product roadmaps and build scalable, easy-to-use applications.</li> <li>Collaborate cross functionally with Product, Design, and Operations team.</li> <li>Interact with our merchants and partners stakeholders.</li> <li>Work hands-on with a highly skilled team of engineers</li> <li>Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing and release</li> <li>Be highly motivated and maintain a positive, 'can-do' attitude in a fast-moving environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>BS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of relevant engineering work experience.<br>2+ years of technical management experience.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document and explain technical design, best practices, and integration guide to both technical and non-technical audiences.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a range of stakeholders</li> <li>Able to thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility.</li> <li>Attention to detail and strong organization skills</li> <li>Strong software design and architecture skills</li> <li>Experience building products that are hosted in the cloud (AWS, GCP, etc).</li> <li>Experience with building mobile UI based applications</li> <li>Experience with building service-oriented, database driven applications</li> <li>Experience with Java or other OOP languages.</li> <li>Experience with modern JavaScript framework, such as Vue.js, Angular, React, etc.</li> <li>Experience with some (or all) of the following technologies/frameworks/tools: Maven, Git, MySQL, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Jersey, Jetty, etc.</li> <li>Experience using agile methodologies and tools</li> <li>Experience working on high-volume and low-latency systems</li> <li>Prefer: Has worked for a US-based company in the US or has exposures working with a US-based company.</li> </ul>
